Plymouth Environmental Action will be up on Dartmoor this Saturday 5th November with the Dartmoor Preservation Association. We will be restoring the Devonport Leat to its former glory for all to appreciate our heritage!

Shore Thing survey on Saturday 29th October 2011

Come and learn about marine life at Jennycliff beach near Plymouth! We will be carrying out a survey of the rocky shore which will include native and non-native or invasive species! We will also be doing a beach clean. The data that we collect will be used by the Marine Biological Association to monitor important species and change on our rocky shores.

Acorn collection and planting to produce new oak trees!

We had a great time out with Moor Trees at their nursery collecting acorns and then planting them in their beds. We can't wait for them to grow and then plant them out in a few years!

Sunday 23rd October 9:30 - 16:30: Plymouth Environmental Action (PEA) are going to South Brent (just outside of Plymouth) where we will be acorn collecting for a local charity called Moor Trees. Acorns will be harvested by us and then they will be dried and kept cool during the winter and then potted up in Autumn next year to produce new oak trees for planting native woodland! Smile

Saturday 1st October - Bioblitz at Mount Edgcumbe



Next Saturday 1st October Plymouth Environmental Action is attending the Bioblitz at Mount Edgcumbe Country Park to survey all the animals and plants in the area!

Hedge Laying on Dartmoor

24th September.

Hedgelaying on a bridle way on Dartmoor with the Dartmoor National Park Authority. 9.30am to 4.30pm.

Beach Clean and barbeque at Jennycliff with the Marine Conservation Society


After a thorough litter pick of all the nasty marine rubbish on Jennycliff, we treated ourselves with a good old BTCV-style BBQ on a pretty clean beach :)

Burrator Hay-raking, surveys and Bushcraft with South West Lakes Trust


We had great fun at burrator raking the meadow and learning bushcraft skills in the forest..
We found lots of pretty snails in amongst the grass by the reservoir

Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th March

We will be making bird and bat boxes at Cabilla and Redrice Woods with Cornwall Wildlife Trust. We will leave the office at 9:30am
